Bio
Dean Crimmins is a talented musician who grew up between Zurich, London and Tel Aviv. His musical journey began at a young age: Dean was immersed in the world of music through his father, Roy Crimmins, a professional jazz musician who played the trombone with Louis Armstrong, Alex Welsh and several Ellingtonians a.o.
“I must have been 6 years old when my father gave me two music recordings: ‘The Beatles, 1962-1966’ and ‘Elvis Presley, Greatest Hits’. I immediately fell in love with The Beatles and that's when I decided I wanted to be either a football player wearing the No. 7 shirt like Kevin Keegan or a musician.”
Dean began playing the trumpet when he was 7 years old and the piano when he was 13. At age 16, he took up the electric guitar and started playing with several pop rock and jazz bands.
In 2005 he graduated with a master degree in music and pedagogy from the Jazz School of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
After having taught guitar at the Conservatory of Zurich and at several Swiss high schools, Dean embarked on an international journey which led him to Cairo, New York City and Jerusalem. In Cairo, Egypt, where he lived for 3 years from 2012-2015, he recorded some of his pop/rock compositions in cooperation with local musicians, produced by Grammy Award winner Alaa El Kashef.
In 2015, Dean moved with his family to New York City, where he fine-tuned his skills as a singer-songwriter and earned remarkable opportunities to showcase his talent. He recorded an E.P album of his songs with some great musicians such as Conrad Korsch on bass (Rod Stewart), Shawn Pelton on drums (Saturday Night Live Show), Linus Wyrsch on tenor sax and Lucy Woodward on backing vocals (Rod Stewart, Charlie Hunter a.o). He performed several live gigs in and around New York. His band was comprised of members of the Cyndi Lauper, Blondie and Thompson Twins bands. He also played duo gigs with Corcoran Holt on double bass from the Kenny Garrett Group.
As COVID-19 struck the world in 2020, Dean had to put aside all his plans for concerts in Israel and Palestine. Passionate about cinema and film music, Dean decided to take advantage of this forced stage pause to study film/TV and orchestral music at the Berklee College of Music. He then composed some original orchestral music for 3 community theater plays in Jerusalem.
At the core of Dean’s journey - from teaching to performing and composing - is his desire to share the magic of music and the horizons it can open.
He takes his inspiration from all styles of music: “I have a deep love for jazz and classical music and study the scores of all the great masters. I also love The Beatles, Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry. All the great Motown and Stax recordings. Bernard Herrmann and Lalo Schifrin and many many more.”
Today established in Geneva and deeply committed to his compositions, Dean is poised to enrich the music industry, backed by his musical skills and international experience.

Reviews
Great vocal performances and sound, love it!
The orchestral writing is very cool and unique in this day and age.
All the mixes, everything is placed so well.
These tracks sound so great!
Very, very cool!!! Great job!
TOO LATE TO DANCE is just one of those songs that draw an automatic smile, with Bob Dylan/Leonard Cohen type charm Dean Scott Crimmins is exactly what we’re so sorely lacking in the contemporary Pop arena. His sound is euphorically timeless, not riddled with complexity, just a sweet and humble quintessence that holds a reminiscence to so many Pop & Alt Rock icons it’s pretty uncanny.
The New York based Singer Songwriter Dean Scott Crimmins holds the track pretty well on his own with his almost Nick Cave-esque lyrics and vocal style, yet for TOO LATE TO DANCE he drafted in female angelic vocal talent to really make this track into a harmonious, rhythm soaked wonder. Even at 5:51 minutes long, I was still left with a craving for more of the Pop lotharios pioneeringly nostalgic sound. Luckily for me, he has a hefty back catalogue to sink my teeth into.
Really fun upbeat song. The writing is good and the production is strong. Really like the catchy melodies, the beat has a good energy and the backing vocals work really well. All the instrumentation and vocals have a strong performance and are well captured in the recording.
Way to go!
